Broken key stuck in the ignition?
A key snapped off in the door lock or ignition. We take the broken piece out.
A key that snaps off inside the ignition leaves a piece of metal sitting on the pins. Pulling at it with pliers or glue usually pushes it deeper.
We use extraction tools made for the job to bring the broken piece out, then cut a new key from the two halves or from the lock itself.

When people call us for this
- Key snapped while turning
- Common with worn keys and stiff ignitions, especially in cold weather.
- Piece stuck after a DIY attempt
- Tell us what has been tried so far. It changes how we approach the lock.
- Key will not turn or come out
- Stop forcing it. A bent or cracked key is close to breaking.
Before you call
Have these ready. It makes the call faster and the visit shorter.
- Both halves of the broken key, if you have them
- Registration or title and matching ID
Good to know
Extraction is possible in many cases but not all. It depends on the vehicle, how deep the piece sits and the condition of the ignition. We give you an honest assessment once we see it.

Questions people ask
Can I pull it out myself?
It is easy to push the piece further in or jam the pins. If tweezers do not grip it on the first try, stop and call.
Can you make a new key after removing the broken one?
In many cases, yes. We can cut from the broken halves or decode the lock, then program the key if your car needs it.
What if the ignition itself is damaged?
We also repair and replace ignitions. We tell you what we find and what your options are before doing anything further.
